A little history...
In 1992 the Shadow Mountain Church in El Cajon California hosted a mission convention. A Romanian pastor challenged the participants to help with the spiritual needs in that country as the communist stronghold was being broken. Arne Halvarson responded and was sent on a 9-week assignment to teach and oversee a fledgling Bible school. That assignment has expanded to 28 years of service and the founding and development of Romania Outreach Ministries (ROM).
ROM has three primary areas of involvement. First has always been education and training of Romanian workers. Over 100 students have been trained in the 3-year Bible Institutes. Establishing and building churches has been a joyful privilege for ROM workers. A beautiful rural property was provided miraculously. This has become a campground and conference center where Dr. Nat Thomas and his family have nurtured teens and children in summer camp programs for 22years. The ministry has grown to include church planting and help, youth ministry, discipleship schools and relief programs where needed.
