The elderly have been left behind

Winter is coming and the war in Ukraine has not stopped. Attacks have increased on civilian targets, power stations have been hit, supply lines have been interrupted. Where there is tragedy, criminals swarm in. This means that there have been heavy controls on clothing entering the country because of the illegal criminal activity that diverts imports to sell without government taxes. This keeps people from being able to get the winter clothing that they need. Without jobs due to the war, people cannot afford to buy fuel for heating. Coal, which they usually heat with, costs so much now that it would take a year's salary to buy what they need to make it through the winter--that is if they have not already fled their home! Electricity has been cut to being turned on for only a few hours each day, so communication via cell phones is now limited.

Yet, God has made a way for us to get food and some clothing in through some key people who make sure that these resources go exactly to those in need. They are working through their churches and through the city mayors to help everyone that they can: those who live there and those who have fled there. People are seeing first hand the testimony of the Gospel, sharing the love of Christ in a practical way that makes them open to hearing the Gospel.
